Sen. Lewis was always very nice and kind to me. I was proud to call him my state senator as well as a friend. I will miss his wisdom and wit.

Anna Mae and family,  We were so sorry to hear of the passing of Jim .How my dad enjoyed being with him and hearing his jokes. Julie Berry told me today, and I felt like we were saying goodbye to all our dedicated servants. They were teachers for us and they expect us to carry on for them and for future generations . Our prayers are with you. May God grant you the strength you need.

Cheri and I would like to send our condolences to the Lewis family. We met Jim through my wife's parents Bud and Jeanne Taflinger. He became a friend and never a time when he was around that he did not make an effort to see us and speak to us about any concerns we had. He was the definition of public servant. Jim will be missed.

Our deepest sympathies for the entire Lewis family, especially Anna Mae, David, Tom and Charlie.  Jim was also my scout leader for many years.  I attribute many of my leadership qualities to Jim's leadership.  His hard work and fellowship will always be remembered and will live on forever.  The Kentucky author, Jessie Stuart, said, "I am in firm in my belief that a teacher lives on and on through his students.  Good teaching is forever and the teacher is immortal."  RIP Jim, Gale and Joie COmbs

Mr. Jim was my boy scout leader, Troop 66.  He encouraged me to obtain Eagle scout status.  A wonderful basketball referee who never gave me a technical foul.  Mr. Jim was a person who everybody looked up to for leadership and sound advice.  No problem with GOD blessing his soul.
Goodbye for now.
