Robert 'Bob' Allen Bartholomai

Robert ‘Bob’ Allen Bartholomai 81 of Jeffersonville IN, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.  He was born on April 11, 1939 in Vincennes, IN to the late Ralph E. and Marjorie J. (Peyton) Bartholomai.

Bob embraced his life and enjoyed all it had to offer.  His life with Helen started early in life as high school sweethearts.  They married on July 31, 1957 and would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this July.

Some of Bob’s biggest passions were Helen, his kids, grandkids, great grandkids, and music.  He enjoyed playing his bass guitar, harmonica, ukulele, and singing.  His love of music had a wide range. From his band, blues, jazz, rock and roll to country.  He passed this love onto his kids and grandkids.

Bob was a lover of the outdoors.  He was an adventurer, a daredevil, and a thrill seeker in his youth.  He was also a handyman at home.  He spent much of his life as a welder at Jeff Boat and taught welding class at Ahrens Trade School.  Later in life, he became self employed as a highly sought-after wallpaper hanger for top interior designers in Louisville, KY.

He was a great friend and family man who was always available if needed.  He was a follower of Christ and stayed actively involved in bible study, where he enjoyed his fellowship with his men’s group as they studied God’s word.  His favorite bible verse was 1 Corinthians 13.  It gave him hope in hard times.

Bob was one of a kind and will forever be missed by those who knew him on this side of Heaven.  He is singing with the angels now.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Helen; his children, David (Wenda), Greg (Susie), Bobby and Lisa (Ron); grandchildren, Brad (Dominque), Max, Nick, Jacob (Shelby), Brett, Andrew, Sarah, Wes, John, Isabella, Matt, and Iris; great grandchildren, Bradyn, Aly and Salem; brothers, Gene (Wanda) Bartholomai and Stanley (Betty) Bartholomai.

The family of Bob Bartholomai will receive friends and family on Thursday, April1, 2021 at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, IN beginning at 4:00 pm until 6:45 pm.  Burial will be private at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, IN.
