He was born on March 9, 1973 in Louisville, KY to Robert McCawley and Murtle Cain Gabbard.

Robert is survived by his daughters, Ashley McCawley of Louisville, KY and Elizabeth McCawley of Greensburg, KY; father and step-mother, Robert and Delores McCawley of Underwood, IN; mother, Murtle Gabbard of Charlestown; sister, Ronette (Fernando) Leal of Charlestown.
