Mary Jane (VanMeter) Walden

Mary Jane Van Meter Walden passed away at her home on Monday, January 11, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Walden, granddaughter, Tara Brummett, and grandson, Dennis Roggenkamp. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Van Meter; five sisters and two brothers; and her foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Richey.

Mary Jane is survived by a son, James (Anita) Walden of Charlestown, IN; daughters, Marcia (Dennis) May of Georgetown, IN. and Donna Sue Walden of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren Scott (Nicole) Walden of Lanesville, IN; Shannon Walden Glover of Charlestown, IN; Theresa Thompson (Michael) Malone of Jeffersonville, IN; Tony (Teresa) Thompson of Texas; Billy (Amanda) Walden of Louisville, KY; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

She attended Community Presbyterian Church, volunteered at St. Catherine Hospital and was a member of V.F.W. 1427.

Gratitude to Adaptive Hospice services staff and a special thanks to Sofia Harrington, for the care and support.

Funeral service for Mary Jane will be conducted on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11:00 am at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.  Burial will follow in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm also at Grayson Funeral Home.
