Leisa Janice (Perkins) Burgin

Leisa Janice Burgin, 59, of Marysville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 9, 1961 to Frank and Margaret Board Perkins in Glasgow, KY.

Leisa was a Registered Nurse and has been the School Nurse at Southwestern High School.  She also worked at Clark Memorial Hospital and the U.S. Census Bureau where she was a stat clerk.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Washington and enjoyed gardening, flowers, spending time with her grandkids and family, writing poetry, baking and shopping.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Donnie Perkins.

Leisa is survived by her husband whom she married on September 2, 1977, Charles Robert Burgin;  daughters, Chassidy (Jason) Bibb of Nabb, IN and  Meagan (Brandon Burchel) Burgin of Jeffersonville, IN; her son, Josiah (Amanda) Burgin of New Washington;  sisters, Brenda (Tom) Wampler of Nabb and Linda (Gary) Brooks of Charlestown, IN; brother, Mickey (Bonita) Perkins of Charlestown; grandchildren, Desaray (Justin), Jackson, Riley, Weston, Zoe, Charley, Ezekiel, Harley and Skyler; great grandchildren, Summer and Peyton; sister-in-law, Barbara  Perkins of Fisherville, KY; aunts including Myra Powell of Elizabethtown, KY and Patsy Perkins of McDaniels, KY and several nieces and nephews.

A Life Celebration Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday August 8, 2020 at Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with burial in Barnes Cemetery. Visitation will be from  2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday and after 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
