Joyce Marie Bamforth

Joyce Burks Bamforth, 83, of Charlestown, IN, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

She was a native of Charlestown, a former member of Charlestown Independent Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lloyd; her brothers, Larry and Ricky Burks; and sisters, Diane Gaston and Norma Crane.

Joyce is survived by her children, Lloyd “Junior” Bamforth (Nancy) of Louisville, KY, Darlene Peyton (Johnny) of Charlestown, Rob Bamforth (Doris Hargis) of Clarksville, IN and David Bamforth (Jayme) of Charlestown; sisters, Mary Lavern Bodkin of Charlestown and Barbara “June” Honeycutt of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Life Celebration Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 3, 2023, at Grayson Funeral Home, with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday and after 9:00 am on Friday.
