Johnnie Mae (Branton) Allen

Johnnie Mae Allen, 99 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Sunday June 27, 2021 at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany, IN.

She was born on January 3, 1922 in Cottonwood, AL and spend most of her entire life in Deland Springs, FL.  Johnnie was the last of 12 children of John Wesley and Henrietta Butler Branton.   She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlestown and the Order of Eastern Star Chapter # 597.

Survivors include her children, Tom Allen and his wife Toni of Charlestown, Ronald P. Allen and his wife Linda of Charlestown, Steven W. Allen and his wife Tracey of Charlestown, Patricia A. Doyle of Marysville, IN and Paulette S. Dohoney and her husband Douglas of Salem, IN; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and 2 great great great grandchildren.

Life Celebration Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday July 2, 2021 at First Baptist Church with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday at Grayson Funeral Home and after 10:00 am on Friday at the church.
