Genevieve (Carnes) Gregory

Genevieve Carnes Gregory, Charlestown, IN departed peacefully to her Heavenly Home on May 23, 2021.  Born in Flat Lick, Kentucky on March 6, 1938.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Charles B. Gregory, parents: General Lee & Axie Belle Carnes, brothers: Kenneth, Leonard, James, Bob & Silas Carnes. Sisters: Ruby Ely, Mary Akers, Opal Martin, Doris Asher, Lorene Ward, Pauline Bright.

She is survived by daughters, Helen Webb (John), Pamela Shaw Combs, Melissa Pendley (Michael).  Grandchildren:  Johnna Webb, Matt Webb (Kerriann), Nick Shaw (Toni), Charla DeBurger (Josh), Micah Pendley (Josh).  Great Grandchildren:  Courtney, Valerie, Wyatt, Layne & Becca Webb, Jack, Ella & Emma Shaw, Charlie Petty, Harleigh Pendley, Gracie DeBurger.  Sisters: Alice Cheek, Shirley Beamer (Bob), Evelyn Gray and Wilma Gray (Tom) as well as many loving nieces, nephews, church family & friends.

Genny loved cooking for family, friends & church family.  She was blessed by sending cards of encouragement to others as well as receiving them in return.  She was always very proud to share stories about her Kentucky mountain heritage.  She was a faithful member of Main Cross Independent Church.

Very special thanks and appreciation to her very caring Adaptive Hospice Family:  Anna, Heather, Tiffany, Angel, T.C., Melissa, Jessica, Brandy, Chris, Dr. Adam French and the entire staff.  You all are very special caring people that were a Blessing and a God Send to us.

Also, thanks to Maple Manor Christian Home and the compassionate caregivers there.

Funeral services for Genny will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.  Visitation will also be on Saturday for 10:00 am until the funeral hour at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Charlestown Cemetery.
