Brenda Dean Obituary

Brenda Sue (Streets) Dean, 69, of Charlestown, passed away on April 18th after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She finished her race at the University of Louisville Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 9th, 1955, to Robert “Bobby” and Margaret (Howard) Streets, Brenda touched the lives of those around her with her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. She graduated from Charlestown High School in 1973. She enjoyed her years as a social worker at The Kids Place in Scottsburg, reporter/photographer for a local newspaper, event planning and decorating, and most importantly as a homemaker. Her favorite days were those spent with her family. Despite facing the challenges of her illness, she remained a beacon of hope and inspiration to all who knew her.

Throughout her life, Brenda embodied kindness, compassion, a willingness to help others, and most of all, a fierce love for God and her family. Her contagious laugh, fun-loving spirit, and motherly love knew no bounds, leaving an incredible mark on the hearts of friends and family alike.

Her legacy of love will be cherished by all who had the privilege of sharing in her journey.

Brenda is survived by her loving family, including her husband, Steven Dean; sons Bob Lemmons, Billy Lemmons (Janie), Chris Springstun (Lauren); daughter Jessica Hamner (Jess); step-sons Stephen Dean (Sandra), and Kevin Dean (Phyllis); Grandchildren Haley Khalil (George), Emily Meece (Matt), Clara Lemmons, Roman and Bella Lemmons, Lyndon, Hallie and Gracie Springstun, Olivia and Finley Hamner, Chelsea Vinalli (Luigi), Ethan Dean, Allana Wood (Brandon), and Trista Dean. She leaves three great-grandsons and four great-granddaughters with another on the way. She is also survived by her loving mother, Margaret Streets; brother Jeff Streets; sister Cindy Gregory (Chuck); and several nieces and nephews who she all loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert “Bobby” Streets, and daughter, Jennifer Springstun.
