William Rodman (Bill) Holder, 90, formerly of New Market Indiana passed away at the home of his daughter in Norton, Ohio on January 24, 2025. He was born on December 27, 1934, in Utica, Indiana to Noble and Evelyn Brendle Holder who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife Leona, siblings Sarah (Jim) McLean, John Holder, Barbara (Randall) Cartright, Hugh (Carolyne) Holder, Donnie (Judy) Holder, and George Holder, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Dorothy (Max) Montgomery, Louise Garrity, Martha (Ron) Montgomery, Dominic Canale, and Linda Mitchell.
Survivors include his daughter and caregivers Cathy (Bob) James, William (Joyce) Holder, grandsons Evan (Julia) James, Will Holder, and Diego the Dog (his sleeping companion in Ohio), sisters-in-law Barbara Holder, Shirley Holder, Ruth (Bill) Milner, Margaret Canale, brothers in law Eddie Garrity, Edwin Mitchell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was a lifelong farmer. He hauled milk for the Salem Dairy, drove his school bus for the New Washington schools, hauled livestock to stockyards for area farmers, and raised crops and cattle on his farm in New Market. He enjoyed watching westerns and tractor pulls, but most of all, he enjoyed shooting the breeze with his many friends.
Life Celebration Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in the New Market Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
