William "Bill" Tungate

William R. “Bill” Tungate 83, formerly of Charlestown, IN passed away on October 4, 2022, at his home in Sebring, FL.

Bill was born on January 15, 1939, in Scottsburg, IN to Ray and Reba Forston Tungate.  He was a former meat cutter for the old Key Market Grocery in Charlestown and a self employed truck driver.  He was a member of the Sellersburg Moose Lodge and enjoyed fishing and racing in open wheeled midgets.

Survivors include his sons, Kenneth Tungate of Athens, TN and David Tungate of Pekin, IN; daughter, Susan Tungate Maxwell of Prospect, KY; sister, Sonja Kendrick of Charlestown and brother Dr. Fred Tungate of Sebring, FL, his companion, Sharon Mattingly and 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Life Celebration Services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday October 13, 2022, at Grayson Funeral Home with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from  10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thursday.
