William Ellis Hostetler, 83 of New Washington passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at his home.
Bill was born September 15, 1939, in Madison, IN to Emory and Laverne Jenkins Hostetler. He graduated from Saluda High School and while a Senior joined the Army Reserves in January of 1957. He worked numerous jobs through life, finally retiring as an over the road trucker. After retirement Bill worked three plus years as armed security at the old Indiana Ammunition Plant in Charlestown. He then worked nine years for the Clark County Sheriff’s Department in supervision of the Inmate work program. Bill was a member of New Washington Masonic Lodge #167, past member of Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, Emory and Laverne Jenkins Hostetler; brothers, Leon and Ronald; wife of 48 plus years, Winona Willey Hostetler.
Bill is survived by two sons, Anthony of Jeffersonville, IN and Michael of New Washington, IN; one sister, Patty Goforth(Norman) of Jeffersonville; one brother, Larry(Janet) of Floyds Knobs; one granddaughter, Ashley; three grandsons, Walker, Hunter, and Mason; several nieces and nephews.
Life celebration services will be held on Friday at 1:00 P.M. August 11, 2023, at the Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. The visitation will begin on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Friday until time of service.
