Willard Crase

Willard Crase, 96, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2026. Willard was born on April 14, 1930 in Kings Creek, Kentucky to John Benton and Luanna Day Crase.

Willard was a pipe fitter and plumber by trade, he became a welder and honed his craft to become a true artist with the torch. He retired from the Local 440 in Indianapolis. He was a minister of the gospel, having served as a pastor in Sellersburg and Bloomington for many years. Willard founded the WSLM radio program The Gospel Brothers, singing and preaching to a large number of the local listening audience and influencing the spiritual life of many.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Cora Irene Crase, beloved son, Mark Crase, brothers, Arvil Crase, Dauphus Crase, and Carl Crase, and his sisters, Ruth Meador, Lola Whitaker, and Lena Compton.

Willard is survived by his sons, Roger (Dana) Crase, Kenneth (Cindy) Crase, and Kevin (Sandy) Crase, and his daughter, Janice Ott, grandchildren, Hobie Crase, Yancy Crase, Aaron (Jessica) Crase, Jeremy (Hannah) Crase, and Amanda Grubb, Jeffrey Batts, and Lori Batts, 13 great-grandchildren, brother, Dr. Charles Crase, and his sisters, Willa St. Johns, Louama (Ken) Kelly, and Francine (Kenny) Baker.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, IN, and again on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00 am until the service time of 11:00 am at Faith Assembly Church in Clarksville, IN. located at: 1715 Old Potters Lane, Clarksville, IN 47129.
