Wilburn "Nook" Hester

In Memory Of

Wilburn W. “Nook” Hester, 80 of Charlestown, IN was taken up into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at his home. He was reunited with his loving wife Margaret “Shortie” Hester.
Mr. Hester was born July 12, 1934 in Pembrook, KY the son of Ewing Edgar and Birdie Bell Bracey Hester. He spent his working career as a salesman for several businesses and was a member of the North Charlestown Church of God. He was a great man of faith and was a music minister at several local churches. For years he was the leader of “The Happy Side Singers” and was the inspiration for many young and old. Mr. Hester sang in several gospel quartets and was at his happiest serving his Savior.
Survivors include his daughter, Penny Beebe(Toby) of Charlestown; sons, Steve Hester(Julie), Greg Hester and Brian Hester(Ronni) all of Charlestown; brothers, Paul Hester and Ed Hester both of Hopkinsville, KY, Charles Hester of Charlestown and Butch Hester Jr. of Elkton, KY; sisters, Anna Ruth Agnew of Hopkinsville, KY, Margaret Lack of Danville, IL, Linda Binson of Fredonia, KY and Evelyn Wyatt of Ashville, NC; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret “Shortie” Hester, two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the North Charlestown Church of God with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the church until time of services.
