Wayne Otho Smith, 58, of Hanover, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at his home.
He was born on March 16, 1956 to Harold and Ruth (Davidson) Smith in Madison, IN. Wayne was president of the graduating class of 1974 at Southwestern High School. He attended Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and formerly worked at Tower Manufacturing and Grote Industries. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, taxidermy work, and anything outdoors, but most of all, he cherished every moment with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marcus Ben Smith.
Survivors include his daughter, Ira Jo Proctor (Adam) of Hawesville, KY; step-father, Arnold Shatley; sisters, Donna Pettit and Ellen Hartlage of Hanover, IN; brother, Eston Smith of Hanover, IN; twin granddaughters, Lauren Emma, Morgan Ruth, and one grandson Henry; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 12pm at the Mt. Zion Church in Paynesville, IN, with a private burial in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Grayson Funeral Home in Hanover handling the arrangements.
