Wade Harrison Holmes, 87 of Charlestown passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany, IN.
Mr. Holmes was born March 10, 1927 in Morgan County, AL the son of Dewey and Travis Lindsey Holmes. He was a retired Iron Worker a member of the New Washington Masonic Lodge #167, enjoyed old antique engines, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his sons, Larry Holmes(Carol) and Chris Holmes both of Charlestown; brother, Jerry Holmes of Falkville, AL; sisters, Wanda Adkins of Los Angeles, CA, Rebecca Ragusa and Edna Martinez both of Atlanta, GA.; step-daughters, Barbara Sexton(Marvin) of Louisville and Rita Smith(Allen) of New Albany; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Lorena Holmes and 2nd wife, Mary V. Holmes; sons, Steven and Gary Holmes.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Hibernia Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. Monday. Masonic Memorial Services will be held on Sunday at 4:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
