Virginia Lee Cooper, 85, of Charlestown, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at her home.
She was born on November 1, 1927 to Robert Roland and Maggie Belle (Bower) Baird in Clark County, IN. She was a lifelong farmer, and a retired school bus driver, a member of the Order of the Easter Star 597, and a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Forest Cooper, Sr., grandsons, Chris Cartright, and Anthony Cooper; 6 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Johnson (Mike) of Charlestown, IN, Carolyn Clark (Wynn) of Charlestown, IN, and Brenda Cartright (Jerry) of Charlestown, IN; sons, Forest Cooper, Jr., of New Washington, IN, Darrel Cooper of Marysville, IN, and Rickie Cooper of Charlestown, IN; brothers, George Baird of Madison, IN, and Jim Baird of Marysville, IN; sister, Lula Jones of Marysville, IN; 6 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial in the Cooper Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Saturday. Easter Star services will be held on Friday at 7pm at the funeral home.
