Violet J. (Rea) Pelsor

Violet Pelsor, 95 of Charlestown, IN and formerly of the Madison, IN area passed away on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at her home with her daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law by her side.

Violet was born on March 17, 1926, in Shelbyville, IN the daughter of Calvin and Goldie Witham Rea. She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses Charlestown Congregation. Violet enjoyed crocheting was considered by her family as a great cook especially her pumpkin pie, but her real joy came from her family including watching and enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Violet is survived by her daughter, Linda Jones and her husband Leon Cook of Charlestown, IN; son Charles L. “Bud” of Austin, IN; sister, Ethel Mae Meyer of New Port Beach, CA; grandchildren, Michael, Holly, Kelly and Steve; great-grandchildren, Emily, Dylan, Cohen and Kenton; great-great-grandchildren, Bronson and Braylan. She was preceded in death by her, parents, husband, Charles H. Pelsor on December 22, 1991; daughter, Sue Ellen Pelsor in 1956; sister, Ila Louise Myers.

Cremation was Violet’s request with no services. Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown is in charge of arrangements.
