Vickie Lynn Zollman, lovingly remembered by all who knew her, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana, the very city where her journey began on November 11, 1946. Born Vickie Lynn Eason, she grew up with a heart ready to embrace every moment, filling her years and the lives of those around her with warmth, kindness, and unyielding devotion.
Family was Vickie’s dearest treasure. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William “Bud” Zollman, and her beloved mother, Betty Jean Newby. The love she shared with Bud was steadfast, a beacon of comfort and companionship that shines still in the hearts of her family.
Vickie’s greatest pride and joy was her daughter, Melinda Gentry. Their bond was one of laughter, support, and shared moments—both big and small—that shaped an unbreakable foundation. Vickie’s legacy continues through her grandsons, Justin Burton and Jeffery Burton (Matthew Stafford), whose lives have been brightened by her encouragement and affection. She found special delight in her great-granddaughter, Chloe Burton, whose presence brought extra joy to Vickie’s later years.
The embrace of Vickie’s family stretched wide, encompassing her loving sister, Cindy Sebolt (and husband Craig), and loyal brother, Tom Eason (and wife Debbie). Her world was further enriched by nephews, Jeremy Sebolt (Bekki); and Chris Noble (Tracy); her niece, Carrie Basham; nephews, Tommy Eason and Ricky Eason. Vickie cherished each family milestone, never missing a chance to celebrate her loved ones' achievements and happiness.
Among her many passions, Vickie found immense joy in supporting her nephews’ musical endeavors, especially as their biggest fan in The Rumors and Nervous Wreck. Her enthusiasm for their talents was unwavering, always cheering them on and proudly sharing their music with friends and family.
Throughout her life, Vickie was a steadfast and nurturing presence. A devoted daughter, a loyal sister, a deeply loving mother and grandmother—her kindness was a guiding light, her laughter a balm, and her wisdom an anchor for all blessed to share in her company. She leaves behind a legacy marked not only by her relationships, but also by quiet acts of love, the lessons she imparted, and the countless memories woven into the hearts of those who mourn her departure.
Her memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Though she has left this world, Vickie Lynn Zollman’s spirit remains—a source of comfort and inspiration to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
