Vada Mae Short, 82, of Scottsburg, IN, passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at Floyd Memorial Hospital.
She was born on January 5, 1934 to Claudis R. Henderson, Sr., and Celia (Corey) Henderson in Clark County, IN. She was retired from the old ICI Americas, and loved to go on outings especially to the casinos. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Lester Casey; infant son, Daniel Copple; brothers, Jimmy, William, Walter, Joseph, Kenneth, Edward, Claudis Jr.; sisters, Viva, and Viola.
Survivors include hers sons, Rick Casey of Marysville, IN, Lester Casey of Marysville, IN, and Dennis Copple of Scottsburg, IN; daughter, Tina O’Niel of Nabb, IN; sisters, Virginia Abbott of Charlestown, IN, Vivian Bressler of Scottsburg, IN, Martha Righthouse of Marysville, IN, and Delcia Smith of Marysville, IN; brother, John R. Abbott of Scottsburg, IN; 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 26th, 2016 at 2pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in New Washington, with burial in the Barnes Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Monday after 11am.
