Troy B. Johnson

Troy Barton Johnson 82, of Charlestown, IN. passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Charlestown Place in New Albany, IN.  He was born on May 1, 1942, in Chattanooga, TN to James Barton and Violet Barnes Johnson.

Troy was a truck driver but enjoyed wheeling and dealing the best.  He and Phyllis would frequent area flea markets where he would barter with the best of them.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents; his children, Pam Johnson, Kip Duncan, and Vickie Wright; along with six brothers and seven sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Poe Johnson; his children, Troy Bryon Johnson (Destany) of Colombus, IN, Troy Barton Johnson Jr. (Glenda) of Homer, MI, Tammy Cook of Homer, MI; Christina Nash (Sean) of Cookeville, T, and David Edwards (Sheila) of Lexington, KY.  He was blessed with fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Troy’s wishes were to be cremated.  There will be no formal services.
