Troy Bowling, 86, of Charlestown passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017, at his daughters’ home while surrounded by his loving family. Troy was born March 28,1930, in Ransom, KY, the son of John and Vada Ferrell Bowling.
Troy was a retired diesel mechanic with the Teamsters Union. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for over 40 years. He was also a member of the Blazing Star Masonic Lodge #226.
Preceded in death by his parents, John and Vada Bowling, and sister, Joyce Ogletree, and wife of 64 years, Yvonne Goff Bowling.
Survivors include daughters, Jean Bowling, Cathy Schwartz, and Cindy Bowling; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Aimee Bowling all of Charlestown; brother-in-law, Robert Glover of Charlestown; granddaughter, Brooke Bowling; nieces Jerri Knight and her husband Paul, Dina Schafer and her husband Larry; great-nephews Tyler Knight and his wife Emily, Ethan Schafer, and Trey Schafer; great-nieces Kayla Roberts and her husband Matt, and Makenzie Schafer; great-great-nieces Reese Roberts, Remie Roberts, and Hadley Knight.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at 1:00 P.M. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31 from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown and after 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church until time of service.
