Thomas Darrell Weber

August 20, 1944 — February 25, 2024

Madison formally of Bethlehem

Thomas Darrell Weber, 79, of Madison, Indiana and formerly of Bethlehem, Indiana passed from this life on February 25, 2024, into the arms of our Lord and Savior, surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 20, 1944, to William Weber and Marie Laurel Weber. He was a 1963 graduate of Short High School in Liberty, Indiana and attended Vincennes University and Ball State University. His professional career was in manufacturing, but he found a true calling in his second act as the founder of Rest on the River, a Christian rest home in Bethlehem, Indiana specializing in care for Alzheimer’s patients. In retirement, he continued his calling to serve and was a caretaker for many beloved friends in the Madison, Indiana area. He was a member of Bethlehem Community Church and Southeast Christian Church.

Tom was a talented runner in his younger years and an avid golfer in his later years. But most of all, he loved attending his grandkids’ sports and activities. He was “Pops” to his five sons, “Grandpops” to his eleven grandchildren, and was an endless source of encouragement and support to his family.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert D. Weber and David A. Weber; sister-in-law, Kathy Weber; and many dear friends for whom he was a caretaker.

He is survived by his fiancé and caretaker, Karen Walker; brother, Kenneth J. Weber; sister-in-law, Sharon Weber; sons, Ryan Weber (Pam), Clayton Weber (Karen), Shannon Weber (Carrie), Randy Weber (Sherri), and Casey Weber (Stacey); grandchildren, Kaelee Hubert (Phillip), Eli, Savannah, Riley, Lilli, Bryce, Ava, Maggie, Thomas, Cameron, Andrew; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The Weber family would like to express their most sincere thanks and appreciation to Tom’s fiancé, Karen, who took such loving and gracious care of Pops during his final days.
