Tammy Laine Phipps

Tammy Laine Phipps was born to the late Kenneth and Jean Cardin in Charlestown Indiana on July 18, 1961. She passed June 24, 2026 with her family by her side, after a battle with cancer. Tammy is survived by her children, Kendall Holewinski and John Phipps; her children-in-law John Holewinski and Chloe Phipps; her nieces Lindsey and Kaydence Hyre. Her cremains will be laid to rest at the Charlestown Cemetery with her brothers, Jerry and Kenny Cardin, and parents in September 2026.

In every chapter Tammy was resilient and dedicated, always seeking joy and freely giving kindness. She used cooking as an expression of love and welcomed all. Gardening brought her great joy – not just the produce she shared with neighbors, but the flowers and foliage passed down from loved ones. She was the best stylist, interior designer, and thrifter. Tammy loved being a mom and her children will feel that warmth throughout their lives. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
