Tamatha Ann Elston, born on March 22, 1971, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family. She was a dedicated caregiver whose passion for helping others defined her career and personal life. Tamatha began her journey in in-home care before expanding into skilled nursing home care, forming deep connections with her patients along the way. Her commitment to those she cared for was evident in every interaction, showcasing her vibrant personality that was spunky, sassy, and full of life and love.
After completing her GED, Tamatha proudly earned her Certified Nursing License, a testament to her determination and devotion to her profession; further exemplifying her commitment to personal growth and education.
Outside of her career, Tamatha cherished her moments spent with family. She had a special bond with her son, Justin, particularly recalling a favorite memory of fishing at the river, where he caught a monster fish. The joy that lit up her face in that moment brought her immeasurable happiness. Tamatha’s love extended seamlessly to her hobbies as well; she found great joy in fishing, horseback riding, being outdoors, mowing grass, and nurturing her flowerbeds, savoring every moment spent in nature.
Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her children and grandchildren, whom she loved deeply. Tamatha is survived by her loving family: husband, Leslie Elston; her children, Brittany Vest (Cory), Justin McKennon (Christy), and Stacy Elston; her grandchildren, Kira Gancher and Julia Baird; her mother, Connie Berry; her sister, Melody Damon; her brother, Robert Phillip Richardson, Jr. (Tammy); her nephews, Scott Damon (Robin) and Grayson King; and her brother-in-law, Brian Elston, and sister-in-law, Lana Elston, alongside her uncle, Dewey King, and her devoted dog, Lilly.
Tamatha was preceded in death by her father, Robert Phillip Richardson, Sr.; her grandmother, Ruby King; her uncle, Bill King; her aunt, Mary Shelton, her mother-in-law, Morie Briley; and her father-in-law, Lloyd Elston, as well as her mother-in-law, Erana Elston.
Tamatha Ann Elston's legacy will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, a lady in every aspect who selflessly devoted her life to caring for others while fostering strong connections within her family. Her spirit will continue to inspire those who follow in her footsteps.
