Sylvia Yvonne (Shanks) Masingo

Sylvia Yvonne Masingo,66 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Tuesday January 18, 2022, at her home.

She was born on February 15, 1955, in Louisville, KY to Duwaine and Geneva Bevill Shanks.  Sylvia was a loving wife and mother and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Michael Shanks, Gale Davisand Jimmy Daugherty,  granddaughter, Brenna Rae Snell brother in law, Red Cundiff.

Survivors include her husband, William “Butch” Masingo, daughter, Monica Snell (Anthony) of Charlestown; step-sons, Tony Masingo (Sylvia) of Otisco, IN, Thomas Masingo and his Fiancé Tenya Slaton of New Albany, IN, Jason Masingo (Angie) of Otisco; step-daughter, Rita Stoner of Lexington, IN; step-mother Joy Shanks of Louisville, KY; brothers, Anthony Shanks (Mabel) of Charlestown, Patrick Shanks (Susan) of Charlestown, Duwaine Shanks of Jeffersonville, IN, Scott Shanks (Judy) of Charlestown, David Shanks (Jennifer) of Louisville, Donald Shanks (Andrea) of Evansville, IN, Major Shanks (Tammy) of Ohio, Michael Daugherty (Channon) of Louisville; sisters, Joan Huff (David) of Willow Shade, KY, Anita Smothers (Bobby) of Henryville, IN, Donna Shanks of Charlestown, Beth Cundiff of Shepherdsville, KY, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Life Celebration Services will be at 2:00 pm of Saturday January 22, 2022, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with private burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday.
