Sylvia M. Craig, 99, of Worthington, IN and a former Charlestown, IN area resident passed away at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.
Sylvia was born March 5, 1923, in Otisco, IN the daughter of Early and Celeste Hampton Miller. She was a graduate of Charlestown High School and during her early working years worked at the Indiana Ammunition Plant in the Bag Room. Sylvia moved to California and finished her working career as a supervisor with Viking Connectors in Chatsworth, CA retiring in 1984 and moved back to Charlestown. She was a former member of the Charlestown V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and shortly after the death of her husband, Sam, she left her home to live with and be cared for by her daughter.
Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Cathrene Neal and her husband Douglas of Worthington, IN; son, Robert Ogle of Yorba Linda, CA; grandchildren, Tony Ruth, Douglas Neal Jr., Brianna Neal, Robert Perry, Christopher Neal, and Elizabeth Neal; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Samuel Craig; sisters, Irene Potts and Evelyn Kelly; brothers, Ray Miller, Noel Miller, Ted Miller, and Leon Miller; granddaughter, Dierdra Lorenz.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at 3:00 P.M. at the Charlestown Cemetery. Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown is handling arrangements.
