Shirley G Ramsey passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026. Born on April 24, 1937, in Clay County, West Virginia, Shirley lived a life marked by warmth, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to those she loved. Her life’s journey was one filled with joyful moments and a passion for the simple pleasures that brought her delight.

Shirley was known for her very loving and people-oriented nature. Some of her favorite hobbies were tending to plants with her green thumb, listening to old country music, and watching daytime soap operas. She embraced her career with enthusiasm, so much so that she took her ability to connect with others beyond the workplace by selling Avon door-to-door, building lasting friendships wherever she went. Her passion for travel enriched her life further, and she delighted in collecting salt and pepper shakers from the many places she visited.

Shirley’s passing leaves a profound void, she will be remembered by her daughters, Mitzie (Danny) Lewis, Vicky (Charles) Graham, and Kathryn Kline; her son, Richard Hill; and a host of adoring grandchildren—James Wood, Stacy Collins, Renee Watz, Matthew (Grace) Ramsey, Amanda (Jason) Truner, Sarah (Clayton) Merschbrock, Jessica (Josh) Turner, Alicia (Tim) Allen, Joshua (Becca) Graham, and Richard (Rose) Hill. Her legacy of love extends further to 23 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Ramsey, her father, French White, and her mother, Leona White, whose memories she cherished deeply.

In honoring Shirley’s life, the family invites friends and all who knew her to a visitation on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, Indiana, located at 893 High Street. The funeral service will immediately follow at 6:00 PM.
