Shirley W. Middleton, SR. passed away on Friday, September 20, 2013 at University of Louisville Hospital.
Shirley was born in Evarts, KY the son of the late Walter and Ethel Wynn Middleton. He was a retired Crane Engineer with American Barge Line. A sergeant of arms and member of the Local 89 Teamsters Union, the inventor of the Gutter Cleaner and many other products.
Survivors include his wife Maureen Carol Huth Middleton; four children, J.R. Middleton(Monica), Annette Middleton-Nugent, Rachel Smith (Tracy) and Lisa Colwell (Billy); brothers, Alonzo , Tom and Billy Middleton; sisters, Doris Sindelar and Freda LaMaster; nine grandchildren, Wes and Daniel Harper, Brad and Levi Smith, Blu Colwell, Cheyenne Schurr, Shilo Colwell, Megan and Paige Middleton; four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers & sisters, James, Parnell, Azylee, Hislip, Beatrice Middleton, and Louise Stanley.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home, Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and after 9:00 A.M. on Monday until time of service.
