Sharon Louise Boles

Sharon Louise Boles, a beloved mother, grandmother, and community volunteer, passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 80 in Scottsburg, Indiana. Born on June 22, 1945, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Sharon dedicated more than 30 years of her professional life to the United States Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, where she eventually retired.

A proud graduate of New Washington High School, Sharon's educational foundation prepared her for a life rich with knowledge and experiences. She was a devoted member of her community and actively contributed through her volunteer work at the Clearing House in Scottsburg.

Sharon’s personality radiated warmth; she enjoyed shopping, cultivating beautiful flowers, and was celebrated as a master gardener. Her creative spirit flourished in her painting and sewing, and she was known for her excellent skills in crochet. Above all, Sharon cherished the time spent with her family, particularly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, treasuring every moment of togetherness.

In her final months, Sharon faced challenges with grace, and her family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at the Hampton Oaks facility for their kindness, as well as to St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during her time with them.

Sharon is survived by her loving children, Melinda K. Benham and husband Shawn, Brandi Wallace and husband Bryan, and Jason Boles. She also leaves behind grandchildren Shaina Voorhies and husband Isaiah, Samuel Wallace, and great-grandchildren Huck Voorhies and Kirk Voorhies. Sharon is also survived by her brothers Ronald Ross and Jim Ross, along with his wife Brenda, her sister Debbie Kinder and husband Rick, and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Boles, and her brother, Donald Ross.

Sharon Louise Boles will be remembered not only for her professional achievements and creative talents but also for the love she shared with her family and community. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
