Shamar Maurice Oglesby

Shamar Maurice Oglesby, 40 of Charlestown, IN passed away on December 7, 2021, at his residence.  He was born on July 12, 1981 in Louisville, KY, a member of Gaines United Methodist Church in Cincinnati, OH, and was a veteran on the United States Army.

Shamar earned a Master’s Degree, and worked as a licensed social worker, and was the owner of Fresh Energy Counseling.  He  loved to keep fit, and he always enjoyed his runs through the streets of Cincinnati, where several locals on his daily route affectionately referred to him as “The Running Man.”

Shamar is survived by his mother Stella Juanita Oglesby, brothers Anthony Oglesby and Jamie Hutchinson, sister Christle Oglesby, Aunt Mildred E. Oglesby, Uncle Franklin Oglesby, niece Destiny, many cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Shaquan Oglesby.

A memorial celebration will be held on Tuesday December 14, 2021 at 6:30 PM at the St. James United Methodist Church located at 3715 Utica Sellersburg Road in Jeffersonville, IN.  The church will be open at 5:00PM for reflection and conversation.
