Shade Combs

Mr Combs was born on September 7, 1930 in Letcher Co., KY the son of Shade and Ollie Atkins Combs and entered into the Lords presence Friday October 9, 2009.
He was a retired army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, a retired equipment operator from Frito-Lay in Louisville and a former employee of I.C.I. of Americas and a member of the First Baptist Church in Charlestown.
He is preceded in death by a son Michael O. Combs, 6 brothers and 6 sisters.
He is survived by his wife the former Mary Helen Whitaker, sons; Ben ( Bertha) Combs of Charlestown, Ed ( Carol) Combs of Otisco and Fravel (Mary) Combs of Newport News, VA., Tom (Alisia) Combs of New Albany, IN, sister; Elizabeth Looney of Ohio, brothers; Watson Combs of Louisville and Bennett Combs of Whitesburg, KY 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
