Samuel Ray Pierce, 70 of Indianapolis, IN, passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2008 of a brain tumor at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove.
He was born on June 5, 1938 in Lebanon, KY the son of William R. and Pearlee F. Smothers Pierce who preceded him in death. Mr. Pierce worked at Nava Star for 30 years and is member of Calvary Temple in Indianapolis.
He has been married to his beloved wife, Jean Cross Pierce for 51 years. Survivors include his sons, Mike, Rick, and Timothy Pierce of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Tamara Pierce of Charlestown, IN; grandchildren, Jackie, Brittany, Courtney, Carissa, Tristan, Lance, Angel, Faith, Casey, and Samantha; great grandchildren, Kyra, Amiya, Kaileyauana, and Maliya; brother, David Lee (Juanita) Pierce of Charlestown, IN; sisters, Lula Mae Farmer of Campbellsville, KY, Evelyn (Donnie) Hall of Underwood, IN, Carolyn (Bob) Miller of Jeffersonville, IN, Verna Jean McDaniel and Alma Jane (Jimmy) Denney of Charlestown, IN.
