Ruthann (Berry) Waterfill

Ruthann (Berry) Waterfill was born in Bethlehem, Indiana on Christmas Day, December 25, 1933, to her parents Cecil and Ora Berry. Ruthann excelled in school and 4-H, winning many awards locally and statewide. She graduated from New Washington High School in 1952. After marrying her high school sweetheart, Dan, in 1953, she moved to Indianapolis where Dan graduated from Indiana Central. Ruthann had three boys, David, Tim, and Mark, and dedicated herself to raising good men. Ruthann was an aid at Michigan Road Elementary School, attended college at Hanover, and then graduated with honors from IUS. Ruthann taught for 18 years at Maple Elementary School in Jeffersonville, Indiana, where she excelled in teaching youngsters to read. Ruthann was active in Psi Iota Xi sorority, Wesleyan Women’s Circle, and was a member of the Charlestown Indiana Methodist Church.

Ruthann was preceded in death by her husband, Dan (October 22, 2012), her son David (March 9, 2011), and her son Tim (August 9, 2017). She is survived by her son Mark, daughter in law Missy, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family respectfully request donations in lieu of flowers be made to the New Washington High School Alumni Scholarship Fund at PO Box 13 New Washington, IN 47162.

Due to the current COVID 19 situation all services will be private.

Memorial services will be on December 19, 2020 at 6:00 pm, and streamed on the Grayson Funeral Home Facebook page.
