Ruth M. Tungate of Sellersburg, IN, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2012 at Kentuckiana Medical Center.
She was born on October 9, 1939 in Springfield, KY to Joseph and Margaret Frances Newton. She was a substitute teacher, drove the train at the River Falls Mall, and was a member of the Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Joe Newton III; sister, Pam Kemp.
Survivors include her husband, James Tungate Jr.; daughters, Mindy Tungate of La Grange, KY and Jamie Robinson of Georgetown, IN; brothers, Terry Newton of Charlestown, IN, Barry Newton of Lafayette, IN , and Gil Newton of Goodyear, AZ; sisters, Mrs. Russell Newby of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Ryan Boger of Henryville, IN, Kaitlin Boger of Louisville, KY, and Savannah Robinson of Georgetown, IN.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11am at the Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in Jeffersonville with burial to follow in the Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown and after 10am on Friday at the church.
