Roy Vernon Floyd Jr.

Roy Vernon Floyd Jr, 80 of Charlestown, IN passed away at Clark Memorial Hospital suddenly on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.

Roy Jr. was born in Carrollton, KY on August 14, 1942 the son of Roy Edmund and Muriel Willis Floyd. He retired after several years of service with Naval Ordnance in Louisville, KY as a electronic mechanic and supervisor. Roy Jr. was a United States Air Force Veteran, member of the Charlestown American Legion Post #335 and the Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church where he served as a former Trustee and member of the combat team. He had a long list of hobbies through his life, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, archery, bowling, was an avid Indiana University Basketball Fan and a patriot and member of the republican party.

Roy Jr. is survived by his wife Cynthia Floyd; children, Lori Traughber Walker and her husband Mike of Lanesville, IN and Kathy Anne Murrell and her husband Michael of Sellersburg, IN; grandchildren and spouses, Tiffany(Steve), Lisa(Charles), Jeremey(Stephanie), Mallory(Jess), Nicole(Craig), Kelsey, Alec, and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Leanna, Jayden, Tyson, Cammie, Annabelle, and Sebastian. He was preceded in death by his, parents; siblings, Ruby McKean(George), Ernest “Buck” Floyd(Sue), Jannie Clark, and Patsy Early(Butch).

Life Celebration Services will be held at Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church, 4756 E. State Rd 356, Scottsburg, IN on Sunday December 11, 2022, at 2:00 P.M. with burial in Kimberlin Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Saturday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown and from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the church. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Roy Jr. may take the form of donations to Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church.
