Roxie Grider Wilson Martin, 88 of Henryville, IN was received into her new home in glory on April 16, 2019. Roxie was born on May 24, 1930 in Albany, KY to the late John Paul and Nellie (McClure) Grider.
Roxie is survived by her daughter Linda Duvall of Henryville; sons, John (Kelly) Wilson of Otisco, Mark Wilson of Jeffersonville, Timothy (Cathy) Wilson of New Washington, and William “Bill” Wilson of Otisco; Three sisters, June Sublett of Chicago, IL, Deane Dowell of Albany, KY, and Joyce Stafford of Fort Wayne, IN; one brother, James (Sam) Grider of Albany, KY; 10 Grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Roxie was preceded in death by her husband, Roy H. Wilson and her second husband Thomas B. (Jack) Martin; her youngest son, Roy H. Wilson II, her oldest grandchild, James H. Tyree, and five brothers, Benton Grider, John P. Grider II, Chester (Buster) Grider, Donald Donnie Grider and Jesse Grider.
As a young woman Roxie attended the Lindsay Wilson College. She held numerous jobs in her lifetime, but she was mainly a seamstress. She loved cooking, sewing and Spending time with her friends and family. Roxie loved helping others and was a Christian woman who loved the Lord. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 19, 2019 at 11:00 am at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Monroe County Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 18, 2019 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm and Friday, April 19, after 9:00 am until time of the service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Heart Association.
