Ronald Otis Rush

Mr.Rush of Charlestown, IN entered into rest Tuesday evening, August 19, 2008. Ron was born in Greencastle, IN on May 31, 1935 to parents Perry Merrill Rush and Mildred Rebecca (Gardner) Rush. Ron was a 1957 graduate of DePauw University and a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. Ron served his country and received an honorable discharge in 1962 from the United States Army. Ron retired in 1991 from Tube Turns Technologies, Inc. He enjoyed his retirement by exploring his many hobbies, which included genealogy and collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia, investing hours online as a help-desk volunteer for the old Prodigy online service and spending time with his many grandchildren. Ron was preceded in death by his parents. Ron is survived by his wife of 28 years, Effie (Massie) Rush; children John Rush of Ft. Myers Beach, FL; Jeff Rush (Kim) of Johnson City, TN; Natalie Becht (Mike) of New Albany; Todd Lowe (Kathy) of Memphis, TN and Carla Reisert of Charlestown; seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy can be made in Ron's memory to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
