Ronald Owen Mowery, age 73, of Madison passed away on October 2, 2014 at Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born November 11, 1940 in Anderson, IN to Asel and Kathryn Kirk Mowery. who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a sister Sara Deputy.
Mr. Mowery was a veteran of the Indiana National Guard, member of the Madison Assembly of God, a retired employee of Cummins Engine in Columbus, IN after 30 years of service and was active in real estate with Century 21. He was an avid IU fan, enjoyed his pets, and loved walking in all seasons. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and great grandson and spending time with all of his family.
Mr. Mowery is survived by his wife of 49 years the former Marcella Schoolcraft; 3 sons: Mike Jackson of Madison, Daniel Mowery(Rachelle) of China, and Marc Mowery of Madison; 2 Sisters Lisa Tullus(Scott) of Madison, and Ruth Kinney of North Vernon; grandchildren; Danielle, Angel, Brittney and Jessica, great grandchild; Damien and several nieces, nephews and other family members.
Private funeral services will be on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Grayson Funeral Home in Hanover. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday October 6, 2014 from 12:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm.
Expressions of Sympathy may be made in memory of Mr. Mowery to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
