Ronald Eldon Cole, 79, of Otisco, IN passed away on Saturday morning September 21, 2024, at Thornton Terrace in Hanover, IN.

He was born in Otisco on December 7, 1944, to Homer and Norma Dean Cole.  Ron was a retired systems technician for AT&T and the former owner of SD Cole Communications.  He was a member of Park Place United Methodist Church in Jeffersonville, Jeffersonville Optimist Club, a former flight instructor for Clark County Airport, and a former member of the New Washington Water Corp, board of directors.

Ron enjoyed flying and teaching flying to young pilots. He used to fly to Rough River frequently for breakfast on Saturdays. He enjoyed meals at the old Frank’s Steakhouse in Jeffersonville and Cheddars, riding his motorcycle, watching Clint Eastwood Westerns, Star Trek, and the History Channel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Susan Cole, and siblings, Donna Moss, Connie Utley, and Barbara Marsh.

Survivors include his sons, David L. Cole and his wife Mikki of Marysville, IN, Tim Cole of Clarksville, IN, and Mark R. Cole of Scottsburg, IN; his brother Mike Cole of Otisco; stepdaughters, Kimberly Howard and Kelli Martin; grandchildren, Sydney Treves (Gabriel), Sean Burk, Alexis Burk, Ella Howard, Wyatt Howard; great-grandchildren, Lane  Cherry, Kinsley Cherry and Lela Lewis and Blakely Cherry.

Life Celebration Services will be on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 6:00 pm at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with cremation to follow. The visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Thursday.
