Roger Oliver, Sr

Roger Oliver, Sr., 80 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Friday February 25, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 26, 1941, in Morley, TN to Bud I. and Nancy R. Anderson Oliver.  He was an Army Military Police Veteran, a former Charlestown Police Reserve Officer serving from 1978 to 1982 and again from 1986 to 1990, a retired truck driver for USF Holland where he drove for 40 plus years.  He was also a longtime member of the G.W.R.R.A. Motorcycle International Club.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Jackie Jones and Mildred Atkisson; brothers, Joe Oliver and Gene Oliver.

Roger is survived by his wife, Shirley May Fox Oliver; son, Howell R. (Sonny) Oliver, Jr., and his wife Tara of West Monroe, LA; daughters, Marquetta Coulter and her husband John of Sellersburg, IN and September Walk and her husband Steve of Charlestown; nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Life Celebration Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday March 2, 2022, at Grayson Funeral Home with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday and after 9:00 am on Wednesday.
