Robert ‘Todd’ Watson, 53, of Clarksville, IN., passed away early Saturday morning, April 26, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN. surrounded by his loving family.
Todd is the son of Robert Royse Watson and Lynn Diane Johnson Garr. He was born on May 21, 1971, in Jeffersonville, IN. Todd was a 1992 graduate of Charlestown High School. He loved participating in the local annual Special Olympics and spent summers swimming. Todd was a true Rock Star; his taste in music was vast, and he was a pretty darn good dancer. Elvis and Michael Jackson may have been an inspiration for that talent. He enjoyed watching The Walking Dead and Hulk Hogan wrestling in WWE. Todd often said he loved his family, and they surely loved and admired him. He was quite the ladies' man; he could make them smile with a joke or catch some extra attention with his ‘extra splash’ of Brut aftershave.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert R. Sr and Helen L Stoner Watson, and his maternal grandparents, Tommy and Catherine Mattingly Johnson.
Todd is survived by his father, Robert Watson, and wife, Darnell; his mother, Diane Garr, and husband Don; his sister, Amy Lovins, and husband Brian; and his brother, Clinton Watson, and wife Sarah Beth; stepsisters, Dawn Taylor, Vera Hollman, and Amand Hollman (Mack); numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss and cherish their time spent with him.
Life Celebration services for Todd Watson will be on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 7:00 pm, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until the time of the service, on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Expressions of love and sympathy should be made as donations to the Special Olympics.
