Robert Lee Slaughter 80, of Otisco, IN passed away on Wednesday February 14, 2024, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, IN.

He was born on July 24, 1943, in Jeffersonville to Kenneth Lee and Christine Hall Slaughter.  He was a United States Navy veteran, a retired machinist from Colgate Palmolive, and a retired employee of Jeffboat.  Robert was a longtime member of the Charlestown Volunteer Fire Department and an E.M.T. and member of the Charlestown Beautification Committee.  Robert enjoyed sitting on his porch watching the hummingbirds, loved going to Daytona Beach and listening to Gospel Music.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Larry Slaughter and Dickey Slaughter.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Martha Brewer Slaughter, his children, Donald Lee Slaughter (Kim) of Bethlehem, IN, Tammy K. Woods (Gary) of Otisco and Sheri Lynn Slaughter of Otisco; brother, James Slaughter (Nicki) of Sellersburg, IN; grandchildren, Casey Jones (Matt), Kadie Bell (Gage), Kelsey Emely (Rob), Garrett Woods, Trevor Slaughter, London Thompson, Brooke Stewart, Morgan Carey and 10 great grandchildren.

Life Celebration Services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday February 20, 2024, at Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown.  Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday and after 9:00 am on Tuesday.
