Robert Lee Olson, Sr., 87, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, IN.
He was born on June 5, 1928 to George and Pauline Weberpalls Olson in New Albany, IN. He retired from the Human Resources department of E.I. Dupont. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII and a Past Commander of American Legion Post #28 in New Albany and a member of American Legion Post #335 in Charlestown.
Survivors include his wife Anita VanPelt Olson; son Robert L. Olson, Jr (Valerie) of New Albany; daughters: Beckee Blair (Tommy) of Jeffersonville, IN and Kathie Kirk (Frank) of Floyds Knobs, IN; step-sons: Steven Frazier (Iryna) of New Albany, Dean Frazier of Charlestown, and Gene Frazier (Mindi) of Crestwood, KY; step-daughters: Sherry Wright of Charlestown, and Marita Stricker (Rick) of Charlestown; niece and nephews; 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 20, 2016 at 11am at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with entombment in Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-8pm and on Wednesday after 9am.
