Mr. Murphy, a retired army veteran of World War II who served with Genral Patton's Third Army and was awarded the Purple Heart died Monday February 11, 2008 at St. Catherine Regional Hospital under the compassionate care of VistaCare. He retired from the Civil Service at Fort Knox, Ky and was a member of the North Charlestown Church Of God. Survivors include his wife the former Suzanne Zehner, step-daughters Pam Shearer (Charles) and Kathy Cash (Bruce); step-sons, David Zehner (Suzann) and Kevin Zehner and 10 step grandchildren.
