Robert Raymond Jenkins, Sr, 68, of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born on November 12, 1947 to William and Ruth (Reynolds) Jenkins in Jeffersonville, IN. He was a retired heavy equipment mechanic, and a retired Lieutenant for the Charlestown Volunteer Fire Department. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, James R. Jenkins, and Virgil Jenkins; sister, Sandra Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife the former Janet Zollman of Charlestown, IN; son, Robert Jenkins II (Dawn) of Marysville, IN; daughters, Tricia Gorbandt (John) of Louisville, KY, and Susan Riley (Shawn) of Sellersburg, IN; grandchildren, John Gorbandt (Courtney) of Emoryville, CA, Ryan Gorbandt of West Lafayette, IN, Shelby Riley of Sellersburg, IN, Ellie Jenkins of Marysville, IN, and Maddie Jenkins of Marysville, IN; nephew, Jerry Zollman of Louisville, KY; several nephews and nieces .
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 1pm at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with burial to follow in the Old Salem Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 2pm to 8pm, and after 9am on Friday.
Expressions of sympathy can be made to the Charlestown Volunteer Fire Department or Crusade for Children.
