Robert Perry Goforth

Robert P. Goforth, 74 of Charlestown, IN passed away on Sunday morning January 7, 2024, at his home.

He was born on December 12, 1949, in Jeffersonville, IN to Thomas R. and Lorraine P. Roberts Goforth. He was a retired superintendent of the Clark County Highway Department and a member of the North Charlestown Church of God where he retired as choir director.  He enjoyed traveling with family and friends, collecting knives, and singing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Roy Delbert Goforth, Ida Pearl Crowe, Elizabeth Spencer, and Violet Rittman.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Patricia Hale Goforth; children, Deanna New of Sellersburg, IN, and Tony Goforth (Jodie) of Louisville, KY, stepdaughter, Katrina Compton (L.J.) of Charlestown; sister, Bonnie Arington of Simpsonville, KY; grandchildren Anastasia Hampton (Brad) and Warren New; great-grandchildren, Adrain Miller and Tatiana Miller.

Life Celebration services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at North Charlestown Church of God with burial in Charlestown Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the church from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Wednesday and after 9:00 am on Thursday.
