Richard S. Sweeney, 67 of Jeffersonville passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Clark Memorial Hospital.
Richard was born on August 15, 1946 in Jeffersonville the son of John N. and Thelma Reich Sweeney. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Jeffersonville.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Robinson Speth Sweeney; step-daughters, Paula Kessler(James) Jeffersonville and Rhonda Rinker(David) Elizabeth, IN; step-sons, Daniel Speth(Liz) Jeffersonville, Randy Speth(Angie) Floyds Knobs and Kevin Speth(Angie) LaGrange, KY; brother, John H. Sweeney, Lanesville, IN; half-sister, Anita Olson, Charlestown, IN; half-brothers, Ronnie Van Pelt, Otisco, IN and Donnie Van Pelt, Cincinnati, OH; thirteen step-grandchildren and thirteen step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Charlestown Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. and after 12 noon on Tuesday until time of service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donation to the First Christian Church of Jeffersonville, 3209 Middle Rd, Jeffersonville, IN 47130.
