Richard Leroy May

Richard Leroy May, 66 of New Washington, IN passed away on Sunday September 24, 2023, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY.

He was born on June 1, 1957, in Scottsburg, IN to Roy and Pearl Brester May.  Rick retired from Reliance Electric in Madison, IN and had worked at Jeffboat in Jeffersonville, IN.

Rick enjoyed fishing at Dale Hollow Lake, he loved being outdoors and working on projects.  He also enjoyed Montana and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carol May, sister, Connie Watkins and granddaughter, Alexandra May.

Rick is survived by his children, Elizabeth Draughn (Michael) of Henryville, IN, Eric May of Charlestown, Alan Bowen of New Washington and David Bowen of Clarksville, IN; siblings, Diana Collins (Ronnie) of New Washington, Sally Bower (Dennis) of New Washington, Jimmy May (Lesa) of Marysville, IN, Ronnie May (Carrie) of New Washington, Julia Smith (Ray) of Louisville, KY, Christine May (Don) of Charlestown, IN, Malisa May-Thompson (Jeff) of Louisville, John May of Charlestown and Phillip May of New Washington; grandchildren, Chuck Evan Norris, Austin May, Matthew May and Miranda May; 6 great grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen and a Life Celebration will be held at a later date.
