Richard George

Richard George, 74, formerly of Charlestown, IN, passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Waters of Scottsburg.

He was born on July 5, 1949, in Hardin Co, Kentucky to Robert Owen and Grace Marie Hunt George.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Robert ‘Bobby’ George, Lester George, Owen George, Susan George, Jessie George, Judy Hitt, and Dorothy Hitt, a son-in-law, Bryan Sims, and his wife Florence George.

Richard is survived by his children, Donald Ray George, Ronald Lee George (Laura), and Angela Marie Sims; grandchildren, Allen George, Victoria Lawson (Jacob), Alexis Schaefer (Carl), Matthew Stacy (Emily), Taylor Belanger (Sam) and Chasity George; and his four great-grandchildren, Robert Allen (AJ) George, Travis George, Aliyah Schaefer, and Damon George.

Richard’s wishes were to be cremated and his remains buried at Charlestown Cemetery at a later date.
